Not at all! Print Socials are designed for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned artists. As long as you can reach the press or have adult help, you can do this. Try something new and be brave!

Each group will work with Mary Bruno before their party to discuss and design a poster with your prompt. Check out some of the examples for ideas and inspiration!
On the day of your party, we’ll come to your space and set up a mobile shop for the day. Groups will get their hands dirty by learning how to set type, inking up the press, and learning how to pull their own prints.
Print Socials last 3-4 hours.

Looking for a creative, hands-on activity that brings people together and leaves a lasting impression (literally)? Our Community Is (or ANY prompt)… pop-up letterpress experience is perfect for workplaces, conferences, libraries, schools, and any group gathering that could use a little more connection and creativity. We bring the vintage press, the wood type, the bright paper, and the good vibes—you bring the people! Each participant chooses a word, sets the type, inks it up, and pulls their own one-of-a-kind print to contribute to a collaborative community wall or take home. It’s accessible, fun, and a total crowd-pleaser.
Print parties are some of my FAVORITE things in the world, but that’s not the only way to experience the magic of letterpress at your event. I will bring my more mobile presses and type out and about to get people inky!
Our communications and marketing team enjoyed a private print party at Bruno Press where we experienced the craft of classic letterpress printing and got some lessons in loving your career at the same time. Under Mary’s careful and colorful guidance, we typeset custom team posters and took turns printing copies on a classic, carefully preserved, century-old letterpress. Mary had our team laughing and learning the whole time – she’s just the right blend of educator and entertainer!
The artistry that goes into each handcrafted, printed project was impressive. If you’re looking for a non-typical team building activity, this is a unique hands-on experience that your team will relish. A group of us came together at Bruno Press to surround and encourage a good friend navigating a difficult diagnosis. Mary created amazing space for inspiration and expression, both at the press and for the hours we spent in easy conversation. Our friend chose words for our poster that have become important to all of us, and at the end of the evening each of us had a renewed sense of friendship and support.
