There is a new music venue in the area: Aunt Annie’s Listening Room & Gallery!
Located in downtown Avon they are hosting all sorts of AMAZING musicians and I am partnering with them to create these small collectible QUILT themed posters that will have a diffferent quilt pattern and color scheme while promoting a new and awesome rockstar that is coming to play in this cozy, wonderful, old quilt shop! Have you heard of Pieta Brown? She is the FIRST of the series and boy are we lucky that she is coming to town!!!
Hailed as a “self-styled poetess, folk goddess, and country waif” by the BBC, Pieta Brown first came to international prominence with the release of her self-titled debut in 2002. Since then she has released multiple highly critically acclaimed albums, EPs and singles, with much attention being paid not only to her distinct sound and style, but also the power of her singing and songwriting, including fan favorite, Paradise Outlaw, which Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon has called his “favorite recording made at our studio.”

This piece was created in a moment that felt heavy—when fear, division, and injustice were loud and close to home. In the aftermath of increased ICE activity in Minnesota and the constant noise of political chaos, I found myself back at the press, doing what I know how to do: carving, printing, and trying to make sense of it all.
Each layer of this print was built slowly, intentionally—nine passes through the press, each one a commitment to showing up, even when it’s hard. Letterpress has always been a way for me to process, to respond, and to connect. This print is no different.
It’s a reminder.
That love is not passive.
That choosing compassion, empathy, and humanity—especially right now—is powerful.
Printed by hand at Bruno Press on vintage equipment, each piece carries the marks of the process and the moment it was made.

I traveled out to Pile of Bricks, a massive letterpress print shop in Detroit, MI run by my BFF Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. I figured with access to his incredible woodtype, all of his presses and Amos's hardcore poster energy, I best make somethin’ cool. When I got back to MN, you guys loved that poster so much that we completely SOLD OUT!
Being back home and without access to Amos’ woodtype, I knew what I had to do. I carved the whole poster out of linoleum, got back to the press, and reprinted. I love this poster; with the play on words and the simplicity of urging folks to stand up for our neighbors, get mad, and get involved. I AM PROUD OF YOU MINNESOTA! Keep fighting the good fight.
